The role


In this is a brand-new role in the People Services Hub, we are looking for an innovative Head of Recruitment to develop and lead both our current and future recruitment service alongside a newly implemented system (Success Factors Recruiting & Onboarding).


This role is about constructing and leading on plans and strategies to continuously improve recruitment performance and delivery of an excellent service to provide The Open University with the skills and talent pipeline to fulfil our future ambitions.


You will be a part of the People Services Hub leadership team responsible for planning, development, and delivery alongside partnering with the organisation to ensure the function embraces our global complexity and diversity, and drives the identification, attraction, and appointment of leading talent to meet the OU organisational needs.


Skills and experience

  • Are you a high impact leader with experience of leading successful recruitment service delivery team(s) responsible for managing recruitment activity at all levels whilst maintaining strong relationships (including Executive Board Level), influencing, motivating, empowering, and developing others to achieve both personal and team success?
  • Do you have a track record in leading recruitment teams through periods of change in how they work and what they do, preferably in complex and sensitive operating environments?
  • Do you have experience working in ambiguous contexts, providing direction to achieve successful outcomes despite the uncertainty?
  • Are you able to approach situations with curiosity and respect to build on and develop success fit for the future?
