Classroom Recruiters is pleased to be recruiting on behalf of a fantastic children's home in the Burton area. We are seeking dedicated individuals for the role of an entry-level Children's Support Worker.


Have you ever wanted to work with children as a support worker? What about working in a specialized setting where they have a farm and offer extra vocational activities to help stimulate learning and ongoing social development? You will be working with children in an intimate setting who have special needs.

This isn't just a job; you will be on the road to becoming a key worker for children that need extra support in a residential setting.

You will be working in a team of about six other support workers.


This role is great because you will be trained on how to become a specialist support worker, and it has great scope for progression as this children's residential home really invests in their staff and prefers to promote from within.

At the children's home, comprehensive and ongoing training is essential for the development of staff.

When you join the team, you will receive:

  • Comprehensive Induction: A full induction program lasting one week, where you will meet a range of different staff from the children's home and receive essential training to prepare you for your role.
  • Shadowing Program: Following your induction, you will participate in two weeks of shadowing senior staff. This handson experience allows you to learn from experienced professionals and gain valuable insights into your new role.
  • Ongoing Training: Continuous training opportunities to ensure you keep developing your skills and knowledge. This includes workshops and courses on behaviour management, SEND support, teaching and learning, understanding autism, and children's mental health.
  • Support and Mentorship: Throughout your career, you will be supported by a dedicated team and mentors who are there to help you navigate your role and grow professionally.
  • Professional Development: The children's home supports staff in pursuing further education and training, including Level 2 and 3 courses in Health and Social Care. There is a strong commitment to helping you advance your career within the organization, as they prefer to promote from within.

About the Children's Residential Home:

This children's residential home caters to a range of different children with special needs. Their main focus is creating a fun and stimulating environment for all the children to thrive and progress socially.

The site has fantastic facilities for the children, including therapy rooms, sensory rooms, a farm, and lots of outdoor space where the children take part in various vocational activities.

They also spend time off-site interacting in real-life scenarios to help them with social skills and confidence.

The home invests in developing leaders from within, offering staff training courses like Level 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care.
