A new opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and energetic person, committed to delivering exceptional levels of customer service, to join our dedicated team undertaking the role of Business Services Assistant - Receptionist.
The role
As a receptionist you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our corporate reception, greeting visitors and directing them to the appropriate resources.
You will also undertake administrative functions by providing a wide range of essential services, including ordering and distributing stationery and other supplies, issuing and receiving petty cash and issuing of fuel cards.
As a receptionist, you will have responsibility to administer and carry out the photographic identification process: arrange & manage the diary for all Photographic ID requests for the Force, which can include; new recruits (staff & officers), Special Constables, covert officers and lost or stolen warrant/staff cards, to take the photo and produce the cards in line with the procedures and ensuring appropriate records for audit purposes, also ensuring the correct forms have been completed and signed off by the relevant line managers and these are filed accordingly.
Monitor and tidy the reception area to ensure it is maintained in a clean and orderly manner, including TV screens and display boards, to maintain a high standard of presentation to visitors.
As a first point of contact and a representative of Business Services, you must have effective communication skills, self-confidence and a good telephone manner always offering quality customer service.
Evidence of good customer service and communication skills.
Evidence of the ability to plan and organise multiple tasks using effective prioritising skills.
Evidence of previous administrative duties and record keeping.
Evidence of good knowledge of Information Technology (intermediate use of MS Office products, Mail, Word, Excel).
In addition, it would be desirable to evidence:
Knowledge of the Police environment and policy

Essex Police offer incremental increases within this salary band, therefore the salary for this position will rise to a maximum of £24,462.00.

If you are a Commonwealth citizen or a foreign national, you must be a resident in the UK free of restrictions and with indefinite leave to remain in the UK.
