We are currently looking for a talented and driven recent graduate to join our UK Communications team For anyone looking to build a career in communications, HSBC's Communications Graduate Programme could be the right fit for you.
You will gain hands-on experience in consumer PR, issues management, media relations, leadership and employee communications, change communications, and reputation building through key business priorities like trade, technology, sustainable finance, diversity and inclusion.
You will put this experience to good use through your increasing understanding of a wide range of channels, both internal and external.
Day-to-day responsibilities for this role will include:
- Support the effective communication of HSBC priorities, company purpose and business activities to a range of audiences
- Develop communications in line with HSBC's values and global policies
- Participate in communication campaigns and projects to support the bank's strategy
- Devise and execute communications plans, with guidance from your line manager, to support business activities and strategy
From day one, you'll have a wide network of dedicated people to support you, including a line manager, placement manager and a mentor.
They'll be with you every step of the way to answer your questions, help build your professional network and support you in your career development.
This is a 2-year rotational programme for a recent graduate who is interested in building their career in communications.The role will be placed in short-terms rotations (6 months each) within the UK Communications function, based at HSBC UK in Birmingham.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role you should meet the following essential requirements:
- A creative and passionate graduate who has graduated within the last 2 years
- A genuine interest in communications combined with strong personal communication skills someone with a strong interest in current affairs and strong written and verbal English skills
- Motivated and dedicated has a record of making a positive impact on projects, events and groups
- A collaborator who is able to read others well and encourage mutual respect in sometimes highpressured environments.
- Adept at building reliable relationships and ensuring people can count on them. We want someone who can think strategically and generate new ideas showing a determination to learn, with a particular openness to all things digital
- Courageous and proactive someone who can take initiative when it comes to their own work and is resourceful and curious, with strong analytical capability
The role is based at our head office in Birmingham on a hybrid basis - spending a minimum of two days per week in the office.
