The safety of our residents and staff is our main priority. The Maintenance/handy person will make sure the premises and small area of grounds are maintained to a high standard. Performing regular checks, carrying out repairs and, when needed, contact engineers. As well as being confident in doing fire, basic electrical and appliance checks.

As the homes Maintenance Person, you'll be a valuable member of our friendly, close-knit team, promoting the well-being of the residents and the successful running of the home.

You will be required to:

• Undertake the maintenance and gardening of the Home to ensure its safety.
• Provide a maintenance service, undertaking a variety of tasks including decorating, carpentry, plumbing, brickwork, legionella, plastering, etc., to ensure safe environments are maintained.
• Liaise with Manager and provider when preparing to do a job to assess the materials needed and time allocation for the work to ensure work is carried out to meet the Home's needs.
• Order the necessary materials, equipment for work to be carried out, collecting them or having them delivered to ensure the work can start on time.
• Identify and solve everyday safety/maintenance problems within the home.

SPECIFICATION:
Basic knowledge of maintenance.

Driving licence for collection of materials that may be required.

Experience in completing maintenance tasks.

Working days/times can be discussed but Monday-Friday availability is essential.

Due to working in a care home environment we will require an enhanced DBS check before employment can commence, this is at the cost of £64.

Part-time hours: 30-35 per week

£10.00-£11.50 per hour
