Working across adult, children and public health, our new Assistant Director of Commissioning will be central to our transformation, taking a broad strategic view of how services are provided.

Partnerships will be crucial with internal colleagues, health partners, the provider market, the community and voluntary sector, and of course with our Members, to ensure impact across the wide range of determinants of wellbeing.

We are already closely integrated with health but we are ambitious to go further in developing our place-based model. You will drive effective market management and development of local provision, including the creation of new models of working. Strong governance and risk management processes will be key to ensure our residents receive safe and effective services.


It is essential that you are an experienced commissioning professional and we welcome people from diverse backgrounds and specialisms, who recognise the positive impact and change that you can make through effective commissioning and closer integrated working across all sectors.

You will embrace change and champion positive transformation across a broad range of people services and a place-based approach.
