Job Description - Supply Chain Assistant
Main purpose of job
To ensure all elements of warehousing, logistics, purchasing and supplier management are carried out efficiently.
Main duties & expectations
Two roles reporting to Supply Chain Manager.
Both expected to be able to fulfil all aspects of role and provide cover for each other with one role biased to buying and the other to Operations.
- Review all levels of commodities, third party brands and production consumables (boxes, film, labels) to ensure a suitable stock level is always available for sales and production
- Manage supplier contracts and measure performance against agreed lead times
- Communicate to sales any issues with out of stock lead times and source alternatives where possible
- To manage purchasing spend to ensure supplier rebates are maximised
- Review supply base quarterly to review cost effectiveness and alternatives to ensure spend reduced in line with targets
- To build a production plan to ensure most efficient way to satisfy supplier demand and support efficient running of production lines
- Liaise with production team on monthly and weekly planning priorities
- Run weekly and monthly stock reports and liaise with sales team on potential issues
- Provide Supply Chain Manager and Production Manager with operational analysis: machine performance, downtime, run speed and productivity
- Review demand of all items on a quarterly basis, providing analysis and highlight any issues to sales team
- Conduct periodic full stock checks on site
- Liaise with relevant customers on stock and order requirements
- Input to NPD process to ensure products and specifications set up correctly
Qualifications - Essential
Maths and English GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent)
Skills/competencies - Essential
Ability to build and maintain supplier relationships
Ability to analyse information and identify trends
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Good knowledge of MS Office and experienced Excel user
Knowledge and Experience - Essential
Previous experience of Supply Chain, minimum 3 years (logistics / purchasing / production planning)

£23,125.00-£28,056.00 per year
