A position has arisen for a Communications Specialist within a local council in the Northamptonshire area. This is a key role reporting to the Senior Communications manager on a six month contract.

Your duties will include:

Managing and providing external and internal communications services
Providing corporate advice and implementation for senior managers, service areas and elected members
Taking a lead in their areas of specialist knowledge, whilst operating across services with mínimal supervision and management
Challenging existing established and proposed approaches to marketing and communications activities
Persuading stakeholders of the validity and cost effectiveness of internal recommendations, and managing those ideas into projects within specified timescales and budgets
Assisting in the creation and maintenance of effective systems through the coordination of external and internal communication activity
Demonstratable knowledge and understanding principles of communications and marketing gained through previous work experience or training
Educated to degree level and/or possess equivalent experience in the relevant field
A valid UK driving licence and access to a car for work purposes

This would be an ideal role for an individual with previous experience of writing communication plans and strategies, with an ability to stay calm and work well under pressure.
