This is a fabulous opportunity to be the team lead for our Sexual Health Outreach team.

Within this role you will be able to inspire, motivate and support our team.

Our team delivers sexual health education, outreach and support. We proactively create opportunities for individuals and organisations to access free condoms and STI/HIV screening. We attend festivals, Pride events, schools, colleges and city/town centre venues across Derbyshire and Derby city.

We have a sexual health outreach van which means we can deliver flexible and responsive outreach sessions, including on board STI/HIV screening and condom distribution.


You will be responsible for working with the team to create a rota which ensures equitable coverage across the county and city.


You will also be working alongside the team, so a willingness and desire to work across the county and city is necessary.


Our outreach is continually evolving and responding to the needs of our communities, and as lead for this service, you will have a role in shaping this for the future.


As an Outreach Lead, you will take responsibility for:

  • Supporting the service development of a responsive and high-quality outreach offer in universal settings.
  • Motivating and inspiring your team to deliver high quality proactive outreach.
  • Offering day to day supervision and support to your team.
  • Ensuring proactive use of our sexual health outreach vehicle to deliver safe and engaging outreach sessions.
  • Distribution of condoms and STI screens to individuals and organisations
  • Ensuring compliance with processes which keep our patients and staff safe
  • Being flexible and responsive to the changing sexual health needs of our communities.

This is a varied role, where no two days will be the same.

You will lead a small, friendly, and passionate team of Sexual Health Outreach workers.


You will work across Derbyshire to develop a robust programme of work which will deliver advice, support and education within universal settings.


You will support proactive use of our vehicle to deliver outreach work, condoms and STI screening kits across the team and within the wider service.

This role is for someone who is interested in improving health of our communities in creative and interesting ways.
