We are offering an exciting opportunity for 2x Patient Pathway Coordinators to work in the Gastroenterology & Hepatology department.

Both of these posts will support the inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) team by providing high quality administrative support to the doctors, nurses, pharmacist and other administrative staff in the service.


The post holder will be responsible for obtaining and checking the quality of referrals ensuring that all relevant information is present before the clinical triage takes place.

The post holder will liaise with the GP practices and any other services to ensure that all relevant information is collated.

The post holder will work closely with clinical teams to ensure prompt triage and bookings take place.

The post holder will be required to work across a range of IT systems to coordinate the booking of patient appointments.


The post holder will manage a patient tracking list, and must maintain oversight over all patient waiting times, to ensure compliance with diagnostic breach targets.

They will be expected to present this data to service's Assistant Service managers in weekly department meetings.


We are looking for someone with good administrative experience within the NHS, particularly within an outpatient and ward environment, who is enthusiastic and willing to learn.

You will need to have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate that you can multitask and work unsupervised.

You will need to liaise with patients of all ages, clinicians at all levels and managers within the Trust and at external organisations.

Time management skills are also essential as you will need to balance the demands of a very busy workload.

Other services treat patients from all over the country, such as family HIV care and bone marrow transplantation for non-cancer diseases.
