Description
Passionate about CBT and want to join a welcoming and dynamic team? Come and join North West Sussex CAMHS where your skills, experience and ideas will be appreciated and valued

Our team has strong links to universities and researchers and is actively developing a new stepped-care model, including specialist clinical groups for OCD and trauma.

A key advantage of working in secondary care is the chance to work alongside and learn from highly specialist nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists and psychotherapists (with trainings in systemic, DBT, creative, analytic and CBT).

Within Sussex CAMHS we have a strong psychology and CBT team. You will be well-supported with training and CPD, and opportunities for career development.

We operate a pathways model and you would hold some clinical lead responsibilities within these, including decision-making around treatment options, and supervision of low intensity CBT practitioners and trainees.

You would also play a lead role in our group interventions.

We would expect the therapist to be conversant with IAPT principles and SPFT's 'Delivering With, Delivering Well' standards, and practiced in using ROMS and disorder specific outcome measures as part of evaluation and of their work, as well as part of ongoing team audit.

It would also be helpful if the therapist has demonstrated experience of offering training and consultation to other professionals within and outside the team as necessary.

As a member of the CAMHS team, you would participate in the core multi-disciplinary assessment and intervention work of the team, and engage in multi-agency liaison work as necessary.

You would also be required to participate in the supervision, training and the overall governance requirements of SPFT CAMHS.

You'd part of a very busy but lively and welcoming CAMHS team, which offers a wide range of individual, group and systemic interventions, and is involved in a number of innovative evaluation and research projects and service developments.

As such, you would be encouraged to develop your skills, ideas and interests to further your expertise and that of the team, in accordance with service needs.

We provide mental health and care for children, young people and adults across Sussex and for children and young people in Hampshire.

Working in Sussex:

  • Travel easily between coast and countryside, with a blend of picturesque villages and seaside towns there's always new experiences to be enjoyed
  • Embrace the city life with great access to visit Brighton and London
  • With easy access to Gatwick and Heathrow and excellent railway links across the UK there is plenty of opportunity for adventure

We'd love you to join our organisation that is rated 'good' overall and 'outstanding' for caring by the Care Quality Commission.

Our staff agree, with 82% of people in our recent staff survey telling us that they recognise that care for patients is our top priority.

Other key staff survey results include:

  • 70% highlighting flexible working opportunities as a key point for satisfaction at work
  • 79% reporting feeling able to make suggestions to improve the work within their team
  • 77% identifying the opportunities to show initiative in their roles
We encourage flexible working.

We know that a positive work/ life balance brings about huge health-related benefits, which has a positive impact on the care we provide.

Please speak to us about flexible working, for example, home-working, part time hours, flexible start/ finish times or anything else.

If it works for you and works for the role, we'll do our best to make it happen.

The successful applicant will be required to work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering assessment and treatment to children and young people experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties.

The role involves making initial assessments of mental health need and developing care plans with families for ongoing support and treatment.

The role further involves undertaking ongoing treatment plans with children and families.

You will be required to make thorough risk assessments and safety plans with children, their families and networks.

This post requires some supervisory responsibilities for assistant psychologists and providing consultation for team members.

All team members are required to provide care coordination in cases where children are situated in complex networks.
