Infrastructure Team Lead

You will be responsible for leading a team of infrastructure engineers and ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of our critical IT systems, networks and oversee the deployment of projects builds working alongside the service operations lead andproject team.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of infrastructure engineers to design, deploy, and maintain the organisation's IT infrastructure.
- Ensure that all IT systems and networks are running efficiently, securely, and reliably.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure successful deployment of projects on time and within budget.
- Plan and coordinate deployment activities, including identifying and resolving potential roadblocks, and ensuring all necessary resources are in place.
- Manage project builds, ensuring that all necessary components are integrated and tested before deployment.
- Communicate project status and progress to key stakeholders, including senior management and clients.
- Ensure that deployment processes and procedures are documented and followed, and that necessary documentation is up to date.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the deployment process, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
- Manage the resolution of deploymentrelated issues, escalating as needed to ensure timely resolution.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify and resolve infrastructurerelated issues.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies and evaluate their potential impact on the organization's infrastructure.
- Mentor and coach team members to enhance their technical and professional skills.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the infrastructure team.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, standards, and regulations related to IT infrastructure.
- Working with Engineering and Architects to develop solutions and ensure smooth transition in Build and Deploy
- Tracking of deliver risks and working with Senior management and stakeholders to set priorities.
Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field or comparable apprenticeship award. Or clear career progression working through levels of responsibility and maturity.
5+ years of experience leading engineering/deployment teams, including experience with project builds.
Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Experience working with agile methodologies and project management/Service management tools such as JIRA.
Knowledge of infrastructure technologies, including but not limited to:
Networking, firewalls, routing, and switches
Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)
Cloud computing (AWS, Azure)
Storage (SAN, NAS)
Operating systems (Windows, Linux)
Secure communication - appreciation of deployment and management of Cryptographic devices
ITIL, and other best practices in IT infrastructure management & service management.
