Description

Metalis are working with a growing engineering company who work with a range of industries. They are looking to add to their team by recrutiing for a permanant maintenance engineer at their site in Rotherham.


You will be responsible for the continued running of the production equipment, either by planned preventative maintenance or breakdown reponse.


The Role:


  • Minimise downtime to the facility by thoroughly completing scheduled PPM and maintaining records of ancillary equipment and buildings
  • Work in a safe manner and comply with site health and safety rules to ensure own and others safety at all times
  • Work with operational staff to identify problem areas and proactively develop solutions
  • Attend to plant breakdowns and solve/diagnose mechanical failures and/or support electrical teams with theirs
  • Liaise with operations regarding opportunities to undertake servicing to maximise productivity within the facility
  • Conduct contractor induction to enable safe working and control of, whilst working onsite.
  • Help improve safety, reliability, and productivity.
  • Maintenance of mechanical equipment, specialist tools, and lifting equipment.
  • Previous experience of working in a Maintenance Engineering role with experience of PPM, faultfinding, and diagnosis of faults.
  • An understanding of Furnace Technologies and peripheral equipment would be a distinct advantage.
  • Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship and ONC (or equivalent) in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
  • PLC Experience
  • Welding experience would be an advantage
  • Able to work at heights and confined spaces
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience of utilising Mechanical & Electrical technical manuals and drawings
  • PC Literate
  • Selfmotivated problem solver
  • Experience in equipment / spares strip down and rebuild bench fitting / refurbishment work
  • Mechanical maintenance of handling equipment, pumps, and pipework systems
  • Crane maintenance experience
