The opportunity

We have an opportunity for a talented Accounts Assistant to join us on the exciting and rewarding path we are taking here at Castle Trust Bank.

Having become a fully authorised bank in 2020, we pride ourselves in being a fintech challenger bank, providing specialist property mortgages, retail finance lending and savings accounts to a variety of customers.

You will play an important role where you will be a key member of the Finance Team, supporting and assisting with the financial operations for our Cost Control and Mortgage operations.

Considering the nature of the role and the environment we operate in, you will be responsible for continuously adhering to regulatory requirements.

This will be a busy and varied role which will include assisting with the payroll processing, VAT returns and cost allocations whilst also supporting the month-end accounting process (including journal posting and balance sheet reconciliations).

This role will be based in our Basingstoke office and is full time, Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:30, there might be some flexibility on a hybrid working arrangement in the future after a period of training and demonstrating competence in the role.

What we are looking for in you
What is important to us is that you have previous accounts experience and experience in reconciliations. You will be proficient in MS office including Intermediate Excel (use of formulae, LOOKUPs, SUMIFs and pivot tables). A competent level of mathematical and numerical ability and to problem solve is essential for this role.

What is equally important is that you are flexible and adaptable with good planning and organisational skills. You will be an excellent communicator who can manage their own time efficiently. An AAT level 2 accounting qualification would be desirable but is not essential.
