Here at Optima we are working with a family run business who are well established within their field, leading manufacturers in passenger lifts and auxiliary equipment they supply components and peripheral devices to companies around the UK.

Within the role of
Mechanical Design Engineerbased at the Leicester site you will be responsible for producing 3D designs consisting of parts and general arrangements as part of the established mechanical design team.

Using Solidworks 3D CAD you will be designing parts and assemblies manufactured from sheet metal and fabricated metal parts.

You will use these 3d models to create 2d manufacture drawings that will then run through production undertaking processes such aslaser cutting, folding and bending.

You will be involved with the complete design process from concept through to manufacture.

Skill set and experience;

3D Mechanical Design experience
Solidworks experience is a must
Experience designing sheet metal and fabricated parts would be advantageous
Experience of manufacturing processes
Good at problem solving and a good head for design
