Are you worried about climate change and want to do something to help your community reduce carbon emissions? Or perhaps you want to help people stop wasting energy, save on their bills and have warmer, healthier homes next winter.


If so, we have an exciting opportunity in the Council's Environmental Health, Waste and Climate team for a self-motivated individual to provide energy advice and support to householders and businesses across the Maldon District.


As our new Energy Champions Co-ordinator, you will help lead a team of trained volunteer energy champions who will bring trusted, reliable, expert advice on how to save energy at home to people through face-to-face events and advice clinics in their local communities.


About this role:


As an Energy Champions Co-ordinator, you will:

  • Find and create opportunities for Energy Champions to give people energy advice.
  • Liaise with community organisations and venues to organise opportunities to provide energy advice.
  • Coordinate and motivate a team of Energy Champions to attend events and regular Energy Clinics.
  • Organise ad hoc talks, webinars and energy efficiency events for Energy Champions and other relevant partners.
  • Support the Energy Champions and check delivery quality and their training needs.
  • Reporting on Energy Champions hours worked to enable correct payments to be made.
