SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • A minimum of strong A levels and a bookkeeping or accountancy foundationlevel qualification or experience / internship in accountancy or currently studying for professional accountancy exams (ACCA or CIMA)
  • No more than half way through exams to qualify with more than 7 exams to sit to qualify.
  • Ambition to study towards gaining a relevant accounting qualification.
  • Strong team player with ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues across jurisdictions.
  • Able to demonstrate high levels of initiative and to be comfortable working within a results driven environment with accuracy and focus.
**THE ROLE
**Working within a Global Financial Accounting team, the Trainee Accountant / Finance Officer wil lbe responsible for the processing of day-to
- day financial transactions f or multiple group entities and joint management of the entities' ledgers andtheir cash / treasury positions


Duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage fixed asset registers ensuring that all capital expenditure is authorised and accounted for in line with group policy
  • Manage the sales and purchase ledgers,bookkeeping intercompany,related party and
- supplier invoices, ensuring that all invoices and expenses are within budget (if applicable) and approved, and the processing of fortnightly supplier payment runs

  • Prepare the daily bank account and treasury loan noteblotter, and weekly and month end bank reconciliations
  • Maintain the daytoday integrity of the general ledgers, procedures and controls, specifically the intercompany and related party general ledger accounts
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information
  • Prepare monthly cashflow forecasts ensuring that deposits with group treasury are maximised
  • Involvement in the annual audit ensuring adherence to the year end timetable andthe prioritisation of auditor's requests for information and provision of responses to their queries
  • Provide support and perform adhoc reporting as requestedby the Senior Accountants and other team members
  • You might be required to perform any ad hoc duites or projects from time to time
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops,reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies
  • Working with the other team members to optimise use of current and future technology,and assist with driving efficiencies and improvements in various projects through the ongoing finance transformation process
