An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Programme Lead to join the newly established Financial Improvement team based at UHCW.


The Programme Lead will actively contribute to the delivery of the Trust's strategic vision and objectives, supporting the development and ensuring delivery of programmes of work and project key objectives by working in collaboration with senior corporate and operational leads within the organisation, and providing professional programme and project support as required.


The post holder will have a clear responsibility to deliver paradigm shifts in performance for specific work streams ensuring these are both measurable and sustainable in the long term to ensure an effective contribution to the waste reduction programme through the identification of financial and non-financial benefits.


This will be achieved by implementing and managing an effective and planned programme of activities utilising agreed tools and skills including those based primarily but not exclusively on lean thinking ensuring that progress can be tracked, and risks mitigated.


The post holder will be a key change agent for the Trust in terms of driving efficiency and productivity by working closely with the clinical group triumvirate leaders, chief officers, corporate directors, clinical leads and senior managers and staff to spread knowledge and understanding of the improvement opportunities and embed continuous improvement of efficiency within day to day operations.


You will chair and set the agenda of appropriate meetings relevant to your portfolio, ensuring the timely circulation of agendas, relevant papers and accurate action notes and proactively "challenge" in a constructive and supportive way, current working practices, offering expert advice and guidance as necessary to promote a culture of continuous waste reduction.

The post holder will pursue service financial improvement opportunities for the Trust within a programme framework, providing leadership, advice, support and service improvement expertise to Executive, Clinical and Operational Directors and their teams.

They will identify financial improvement opportunities which encompass new ways of working, pathway redesign and innovation within day to day operations.


The role will support the Trust's Waste Reduction Programme by working in collaboration with finance colleagues to identify high level, quantifiable benefits from programmes and projects which may contribute to waste reduction.

You will lead a number of major cost improvement programmes (defined by Executive priorities) which will benefit from a centrally managed approach due to their complexity or scope.


The post holder will be responsible for ensuring appropriate baseline and ongoing evaluation metrics and monitoring systems are in place for programmes/individual projects in order to produce a clear evidence base when measuring impacts on patient experience, productivity and efficiency improvement.
