Mid-LevelPlatform Engineer - Health-tech - Remote working
I'm working on a fully remote (UK) Platform Engineer role for a successful and growing Health-tech software house who develop products for the Life Sciences, Pharmaceuticals and Clinical research industries.
Working alongside their Head of Engineering youwill be instrumental in migrating their existing platforms on Linux Ubuntu to the AWS Cloud and the adoption of a DevOps approach as they move to a SaaS based product offering.
You will be responsible for migrating from VM servers with manual deployments toan automated AWS Cloud deployment model with CI / CD pipelines, the introduction of Infrastructure-as-Code, Configuration Management and Containers.
You don't have to have all the answers but know how to logically work through the challenges they will face whilst being confident to suggest solutions and learn from your mistakes.
To be considered you will have at least 3 years commercial experience working with AWS and the skills and confidence to help them take a staged approach in migrating their legacy platforms to the AWS Cloud and implement a DevOps automation approach.
Essential skills:
- AWS Cloud Platforms
- Infrastructure As Code
- Terraform ideally but also open to Terragrunt, Pulumi etc.
- Ansible
- Linux (Ubuntu, Debian) to understand the legacy platform and how to migrate from there to AWS.
- CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Jenkins
- Monitoring tools
Desirable skills
- An understanding of Containers (Docker) and Kubernetes orchestration

Remote working (UK based)
Salary:
£50,000 - £70,000 + benefits
