Description

About The Role:

Cambridge Design Partnership is a world-class product development consultancy that uses design and technology to fulfil end user needs, and so creates commercial success.

To achieve this, we have a wide range of capabilities from science, through engineering to design.

Our expertise is delivered by teams who specialise in the requirements of three major sectors:
Healthcare, Consumer products and Industrial systems.

We are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated and commercially-minded professional to lead our marketing activity and our marketing team in a hands-on role.

You will report to the Sales Director and work closely with the sales and capability teams to create compelling sales collateral and be responsible for developing and implementing CDP's broader marketing strategy.

Your objective will be to contribute to sales growth by creating high impact collateral, creating sales leads through traditional and digital marketing campaigns and building brand awareness across our international markets.

Job responsibilities:

  • Define and deliver our marketing strategy.
  • Working closely with the sales teams across our three sectors and our capability leaders, to develop specialist marketing initiatives to support their activity.
  • Manage the daytoday operation of our marketing team, plan their forward workload and ensure timely delivery, as well as coordinate with your internal clients.
  • Set and manage the marketing budget and report marketing KPIs to the Sales Director monthly. This will include analysis of the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns and their return on investment as well as progress with the forward workload.
  • Manage the delivery of major collateral projects that support the sales teams.
  • Direct our brand and create increasing brand awareness through conventional PR, events and through our digital channels.
  • Direct our busy conference program, lively Innovationinsights and Innovationseminars digital channels, website and other social media platforms.
  • Together with our US based management team you will develop and deliver marketing campaigns to support our rapidly expanding US operation.
  • Maintain a close watch on competitors and other benchmark organisations to ensure our marketing activity is state of the art

About You:

  • A confident, driven and dynamic leader with experience of managing a marketing team. You must be able to strategically identify and prioritise tasks that deliver most commercial benefit.
  • Proven experience of marketing services in the technology and engineering sectors is desirable, ideally with an interest in innovation and product design and an understanding of major trends and themes.
  • Experience in CDP's focus areas of consumer, industrial and healthcare markets would be preferable.
  • An entrepreneurial, commercial and salesdriven mindset with the ability to spot and exploit original opportunities. Any direct experience of business development/sales would be an advantage to demonstrate a better understanding of sales processes.
  • A selfstarter with strong networking skills and the ability to develop relationships and work closely with the sales team and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience with any project management tools would be highly useful.
  • A CIM qualification would be advantageous.
