We are currently looking for 2 enthusiastic and proactive individuals to join our on-call team as support assistants.

Applicants must be self-motivated, organised, be able to work effectively alone and as part of a team,

You will work mostly in our fast-paced dispensary, supporting our on-call Pharmacist with a range of responsibilities.

Key duties for the post include greeting and helping customers at the Pharmacy Reception or on the telephone. Receiving prescriptions from patients and hospital staff, logging all incoming work onto the patient tracking system. Liaising with patients and hospital staff with regard to prescription status and general queries


You should have a good standard of education, past experience in working with the public, an excellent telephone manner and the ability to communicate well at all levels.

Basic computer skills are also required.


We require people with a positive and responsible approach to work, who can demonstrate good communication skills, a friendly and helpful attitude and can work well within a team.

The proposed shift pattern for this role would be 2-10 pm and will include some weekends and Bank holidays. Working days can be negotiable.

About the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust: )

To provide a support service for University Hospitals Leicester primarily based at the Leicester Royal Infirmary Pharmacy Department.


To act as the interface between the pharmacy department and its customers in accordance with both the Trust and Departmental philosophies, with particular emphasis on providing help in an efficient and sympathetic manner, thereby achieving the highest levels of customer satisfaction.


The post holder will be responsible for operating the prescription tracking system to ensure that prescriptions are processed efficiently, and telephone enquiries dealt with appropriately.
