Description

Do you like to get your hands 'dirty' literally and work with different types of soil? Do you enjoy a laboratory environment and can work with processes and methodology for geology? This is your chance to become part of a friendly, small team at our Laboratory in Bristol as a Laboratory Assistant.

You will be responsible for basic lab testing of marine sediment, and see soils through a whole new lens And the best part is, all you need is a bit of math's knowledge, so if you like working with numbers and have at least G.C.S.E Grade 4 in Maths or equivalent then this is for you.

Functions and duties

Participate in any health and safety talks, meetings, or training.
Basic soils and rock laboratory testing.
Assisting technicians where required
Perform and record daily and weekly equipment checks.
Ensure daily lab testing targets are met.
Ensure all laboratory equipment is in working order, compliant, and calibrated as part of daily checks.
Any other duties deemed necessary, which are within the bounds of the incumbent's competence and function.
