HR Advisor | Circa £38,250 pro rata | Part-time (up to 20hrs) | Permanent | Gamston (Retford) Airport, DN22 0QL


This is an exciting new role for a HR Advisor to join us on a part-time basis in the Gamston office.

You'll be supporting the evolution of the HR operational function across our two business' and will work closely with the wider HR team in Thatcham to ensure our values and culture are embedded at Gamston.


As the main point of contact for HR at Gamston, the role will benefit from a variety of responsibilities, from complex case work to hands-on administration - no two days will be the same This role would suit a highly organised HR professional with excellent knowledge and experience of relevant legislation and HR best practice, who wants the opportunity get experience in a varied and exciting environment.

At the cutting edge of automotive research in the UK, Thatcham Research has a unique role in shaping the design of new vehicles and influencing ever higher standards of safety, security and repair.


At Thatcham we have an on-site Crash Laboratory, Repair Technology Centre, Training Academy and Crime Lab, our research expertise is driving some of the very latest automotive developments in technology, materials and standards in this fast moving and highly technical industry.


Our active safety track site in Gamston is one of the leading accredited Euro NCAP testing facilities, trialling and assessing the very latest developments in vehicle safety and assistance technologies.


The Gamston site is also home to Gamston Aviation Limited (GAL) which is a fully operational private Airport with onsite restaurant facilities open to the public, owned by Thatcham Research Group.


What will you be doing?

  • Coordinating all aspects of core HR processes to support the business, working as part of the Thatcham based HR Operations team
  • Working with the Gamston Management team to provide onsite HR guidance and support for the successful operation of Airport operations, the café and track teams based in Gamston
  • Supporting the Thatcham based recruitment team including managing the starter and leaver processes, leading onboarding activities and local HR inductions for Gamston
  • Facilitate the compensation process and benefits administration
  • Assist in managing administration of and adherence to HR policies and procedures; advising managers and employees on compliance with key legislative requirements
  • Maintain accuracy and completeness of colleague information & HRIS data records
  • Providing learning and development (L&D) support as required
  • Maintain and develop local process and work instruction documents, to continually improve all key processes

Key skills & experience we're looking for:

  • A great level of HR knowledge, UK employment law and experience as a HR Generalist
  • Experience of managing and supporting recruitment and onboarding processes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop strong relationships at all levels
  • Experience working independently, providing advice and guidance on complex ER cases
  • Excellent administration and organizational skills with a high attention to detail
  • CIPD qualified (desirable)

You have a proactive approach to tasks and are willing to take on additional responsibilities as required whilst continually striving to achieve the highest standards.


Salary & Benefits

Salary**:

Circa £38,250** negotiable dependent on skills & experience - pro rata up to 20 hours per week.

When we work - our standard working hours are
8:30 - 16:30 Monday - Thursday,
8:30 - 15:45 Fridays.
