Residence Inn by Marriott Edinburgh is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join our team.

This is a fantastic role for a dynamic individual who is looking to progress their career and take on more responsibility.

The Residence Inn is an excellent starting hotel for one who wants to launch their career into Marriott International.
You will work closely with the Hotel Manager and Marriott Scotland Cluster Director of Engineering. Ultimately, this role will give you maximum exposure to the Marriott International UK Engineering division.

What you'll be doing

  • Install, maintain, perform preventative maintenance on, and recommend replacement of, tools, appliances, equipment and bedrooms.
  • Complete repair work in all areas of the hotel to a professional standard
  • Calibrate all controls, gauges, meters, etc. Identify, locate, and operate all shutoff valves.
  • Order, mark, and stock parts and supplies as needed. Maintain inventory and purchase orders log.
  • Inspect tools, equipment, or machines.
  • Enter and locate workrelated information using computers and property management systems.
  • Complete the life safety checklists
  • Inspect fire sprinkler valves and alarm systems.
  • Assist in development of disaster response protocols.
  • Respond and attend to guest repair requests.
  • Organise and Manage contractors to come on site to complete PPMs and repairs
  • Obtain quotations for repair or replacement and submit to the Hotel Manager
  • Complete walk around quality checks with Hotel Manager and remedy all areas of concern
  • Complete visual inspections of plantroom equipment and visual inspection of the main electrical room
  • Assist in training staff on repair work
  • H&S conscious with full participation on H&S meetings.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures
- report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries;
- complete safety training and certifications.

  • Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
  • Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment, plumbing (e.g., plunge toilets and unclog drains), electrical components including lamps, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, replace electrical switches and outlets, and other guestroom item.
  • Can confidentially and safely use tools
  • Program TV's and perform general housekeeping and engineeringrelated inventory duties.

  • An individual who can balance both admin time with hands on duties and understand the priorities/urgencies of tasks do now or do later.


Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance and heavier lifting or movement tasks with assistance.

Move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladders. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Enter and locate work-related information using computers. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.
