You will be based predominantly at Royal Preston Hospital but will be required to undertake clinics and visits at other venues.

A flexible working pattern is required in order to cover the evening teenage clinics. Education and training would be provided to the post holder to develop the skills required to support this service

This is a permanent position, 3 days per week (22.5hours/week).

If you don't meet the entirety of the essential criteria then please do apply We are also offering an opportunity to take this as a Band 5 training role with the opportunity This will allow you to undertake competency based training over a 12 month period to Band 6 level.

You will be responsible for a varied Paediatric caseload which will include covering the acute Paediatric wards, undertaking outpatient clinics and working closely with other members of wider multidisciplinary teams such as specialist nurses, therapists, and health visitors.

Previous experience in multidisciplinary teamwork would be preferable.

You will be an integral member of the Paediatric Diabetes MDT, working alongside an experienced Band 7 paediatric diabetes dietitian.

You will be fully supported to develop your knowledge and skills within this specialist field and clinical supervision will be provided.

This role provides the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in managing more complex patients with the support of the child health dietetic team and our expert multidisciplinary colleagues.

you will have excellent communication skills and multidisciplinary team working experience. You should be HCPC registered and able to demonstrate post registration experience at Band 5/6 level. Paediatric experience and ideally experience in diabetes is desired.

You will join a team of over 35 experienced and forward-thinking dietitians, dietetic support workers and administrative staff.

Our Child Health Dietetic Team covers a busy general paediatric department that includes inpatients, outpatients, MDT clinics, group education sessions, the neonatal intensive care unit and community home enteral feeding.

We are well established within the children's and young people's division in the Hospital and work closely with all members of the MDT.

We are committed to the continuing professional development of our team and will provide you with learning and development opportunities as part of your role.

We are devoted to your wellbeing, with a number of Trust initiatives available to support staff.

You will deliver general paediatric dietetic sessions in both the outpatient and ward setting and will be be an integral member of the Paediatric Diabetes MDT, working alongside an experienced paediatric diabetes dietitian. You will attend MDT paediatric diabetes clinics, MDT transition clinics, and joint PDSN and dietitian clinics. You will see newly diagnosed patients on the children's ward and see patients in their own home / school as required.
The successful applicant will work within a team of seven paediatric dietitians and will be fully supported to develop their knowledge and skills within Paediatric Dietetics.
Although you will be an autonomous practitioner, you will be required to work closely with our paediatric medical, nursing and AHP colleagues.
