Seymour John are proud to be partnering with an organisation who have a multi-revenue stream set of companies ranging from property, FMCG, farming and renewable energy.

They now seek to recruit a number one in finance to report to the SMT and control theday to day running of the finance function.


In this role you will manage & deliver the management accounting, financial accounting, tax and management accounts reporting for the various companies within the portfolio.

Responsible for the management of the three members of the finance team - an assistantaccountant & two accounts assistants


Main Tasks

  • Prepare quarterly & adhoc management reports & analysis for the managers, owners & trustees within the agreed timescale which provide a clear & accurate representation of the businesses with comparatives to previous year & budget.
  • Prepare annual pack for submission to the external accountants for yearend accounts & provide information as required.
  • Organise & manage the team to perform bookkeeping tasks accurately & efficiently
  • Purchase ledger invoices, payments & account maintenance,
- sales / rental ledger invoices, receipts & account maintenance,
- cash payments & receipts,
- bank reconciliations (monthly),

  • Fixed asset registers
  • Loan & HP entries
  • Payroll entries into Farmplan
- journal entries/ accruals/ prepayments

  • Prepare the monthly payrolls
  • Develop & maintain an integrated cash flow management model for monthly cashflows by individual and entity & group to manage cash flow requirements
  • Develop & maintain a standard capital expenditure costing model to improve monitoring of actual against budgeted costs
  • Develop & maintain a fixed asset replacement forecast model
  • Maintain accurate VAT records & submit VAT returns
  • Submit annual returns to Companies House for all estate Limited Companies
  • Assist managers with their budget preparation & ensure budget data can be reported in the management reports.
You will ideally be a qualified accountant but my client is open minded to considering QBE's.

Previous knowledge of working in complex groups would be beneficial coupled with knowledge of working within the agricultural or farming sectors.
