Description
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a van to transport goods and materials to designated locations
- Load and unload cargo from the van
- Follow delivery schedules and routes provided by the dispatcher
- Inspect the van for any mechanical issues before and after each trip
- Communicate effectively with customers and address any concerns or questions they may have
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel usage, and delivery times
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving
Skills:
- Mechanical knowledge: Ability to perform basic maintenance checks on the van and identify any potential issues
- Delivery driver experience: Familiarity with delivery routes and procedures
- Warehouse experience: Understanding of warehouse operations and ability to handle cargo safely
- Commercial driving experience: Knowledge of commercial driving regulations and requirements
- Excellent driving skills: Ability to drive safely and responsibly in various weather conditions
- Strong communication skills: Ability to effectively communicate with customers and team members
- Flatbed experience (preferred): Experience operating a flatbed van for transporting larger or irregularly shaped items
Note:
A valid driver's license is required for this position.
