Do you have a passion for clinical anaesthesia and analgesia, teaching and research?

Do you want to work as part of a growing team in a state of the art Hospital?


If so, the Department of Veterinary Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Anaesthetist to join the anaesthesia team in the Queen's Veterinary School Hospital from May 2023, or as soon as possible thereafter.

You will work within the team to provide anaesthesia and critical care services to the Small Animal, Farm Animal and Equine Hospital's; participate in the practical and theoretical instruction of veterinary students and training of Clinical Training Scholars; and take part in the out-of-hours on-call rota.

You will benefit from state-of-the-art facilities and a strong team of support staff.

Whilst this is primarily a clinical service post, the role holder would be expected and encouraged to contribute to current and future clinical research projects.


You should have significant experience in an animal hospital environment (experience of working in an ICU environment is desirable), have completed a recognised residency programme (ACVA or ECVA) by the start date of employment, and have a veterinary degree registerable with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).

A postgraduate Diploma in veterinary anaesthesia and analgesia (ECVAA or ACVAA) is preferred.
