We have an excellent opportunity for a Claims Specialist position within one of our fastest growing Claims teams, offerings a fantastic chance to work within the London Insurance Market in the specialty insurance space.

You will be working as part of a teamof 6 with exposure across UK liability, property and casualty as part of the business wider delegated authority function.

What you'll be doing

Accountable & responsible for handling UK Delegated Authority claims within a designated claims authority limit, via referral, to ensure that the best outcomes for our policyholders and business are achieved consistently and that all policyholdersare treated fairly throughout the lifecycle of the claim.


Assisting the Claims Manager in motivating and developing high-performing resource, both internally and at TPAs, to produce a well-reputed 'London market' claims proposition for HSUB's UK Delegated Authority classes of business, proactively delivering afirst-class claims experience to policyholders, brokers and internal stakeholders in adherence with all HGS guidelines, claims philosophy (including HSUB iClaims Commitments) and procedures.


To actively monitor claims for relevant classes of business to ensure early and prudent best estimate reserves are in place & entered into systems, valid claims are settled promptly with a tight control of costs throughout lifecycle.

Additionally, manageinternal reserving process from claims perspective, providing claims insights in order to develop/retain profitable business.


What we are looking?

To be accountable for oversight and management of MGAs and TPAs handling claims on our behalf, this includes making sure all claims are handled promptly and fairly from FNOL to settlement, with due consideration of subrogation/contributionwhere appropriate and tight costs control, all of which should be openly communicated throughout the claims lifecycle to relevant stakeholders.


Responsible to maintain 'green' KPI performance including, but not limited to: claims correspondence turnaround times within 3 days, accurate reserving, tight claims lifecycle times, prompt payment and no static claims.


Up to date understanding and practice of the technical/legal requirements of the role

Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial information sensibly to ensure accurate and consistent information is being provided at all times

Be able to influence opinion to achieve desired outcomes

Passionate about claims resolution and client experience; service-orientated

Ability to translate strategic thinking into tangible plans

What we're looking for?
Proven (5+ years) Experience of Claims Market Experience within responsible classes of business

Experience required in claims for UK property and liability business. Legal expenses and/or Cyber experience would be of additional interest.

A firm understanding of the key principles and practices of the London Market

Must understand the claims process and its complexities and variations from first advice to final settlement

Knowledge of the different broking procedures and claims reporting

Up to date appreciation of the technical, legal and regulatory requirements of the role

Proven Vendor/Expert Management

Budget and costs control

Be willing to travel
