The Integrated Community Services Division are holding a Nursing and AHP open day on the 24 May 2023 at Crompton Health Centre, 12pm - 6pm.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Dietitian with an interest in either Stroke or Critical Care, to join our friendly and dynamic team.


This post is suitable for an experienced band 5 Dietitian or a band 6 Dietitian looking to gain further experience in either of these clinical areas.

(Please state on your Application which Clinical area you would be interested in working in Stroke/Critical Care or interest in either).

The post holder will provide input to Stroke and critical care wards, including ward daily or weekly MDT meetings.

You will work closely with the MDT and also be involved with the Nutrition Team within the hospital representing the Dietitians on the Nutrition team round.

There may be opportunity to cover an outpatient clinic.

We are a well established friendly team, supported by Dietetic assistants and clerical staff. We offer a robust programme of supervision and training and have regular team meetings.

We encourage and support our staff to develop themselves professionally and we place a high priority on clinical governance.

We are experienced trainers for student dietitians currently providing P1, P2 and P3 placements with the University of Chester, MMU and UCLAN


You will carry and independent caseload covering either the acute stroke ward or sharing the critical care caseload with another dietitian.

In addition you will be required to support Band 5 dietitians on medical or assessment wards as caseload and service demands.


You will need to be self motivated, able to cope with the challenge of working in a busy and unpredictable working environment and have excellent communication and organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines.


As part of the Nutrition & Dietetics team you will support colleagues in teaching, training and supervision of junior dietitians and assistants and provide clinical supervision.

The dietetic department currently undertakes student training for P1,P2 and P3 placements and this post will be actively involved in supporting the Teams Student lead with student programmes and student development.


You will be supported in developing your skills and knowledge and be required to liaise closely with your colleagues to provide an excellent service.

You should have good communication skills, be effective in multidisciplinary team working and be able to deliver both group education sessions and individual interventions.

You will be required to undertake teaching/training of other health professionals and have the opportunity to be involved in, and in some cases lead on, research, audits and other service development initiatives both within and out of the dietetic department.
