Description

To operate a computerised switchboard system, undertake reception duties, monitor emergency response systems and other duties to support communications throughout the Trust.

Liaise with a variety of customers, both internal and external to the Trust, building an excellent working relationship. To input data into Facilities information systems.

Out of normal working hours and weekends the switchboard operators are lone workers.


The post holder will work as part of the Facilities Switchboard Team and will be required to work closely with his/her colleagues, providing a flexible comprehensive service offering cover for colleagues when necessary.

Handling incoming phone calls in a professional and friendly manner.

Monitoring and dealing with the emergency situations.

Acting as the point of contact for the entrance and exit barrier to the Trust Prestwich site.

Dealing with on-call medical rotas, connecting callers as and when require.

Order Trust transport or taxis for patients and staff (as authorised by wards and departments) outside normal working hours.

Monitor CCTV security cameras and maintain liaison with security staff.


Acting as the out of hours point of contact for the Trust, regarding emergency Facilities maintenance calls, liaising with on-call personnel and tradesmen as required.
