Description

Part Time Health & Safety Officer,the role is to undertake on-site (2 sites) Health and Safety duties supporting an external H&S Consultant in ensuring H&S legal and best practice adherence.

Base - Tipton site 1 and Oldbury Site 2 shared resource

Salary circa £15.40 PH dependant on experience and qualifications

**Hours

15 hours per week
ideally2 days per week 08:3016:30,**but this is not prescriptive.

Duties include-

Health & Safety

Investigating and recording incidents and accidents
Undertaking Risk identification and assessments as applicable
Identification and reporting of Hazards
Attendance and participation in Health & Safety Meetings
Communicate H & S requirements with employees and enforce
Undertake basic inhouse H & S training, such as toolbox talks
Provide timely and accurate reports/statistics as requested.
Effective liaison with the Company H&S Consultant, escalating concerns as appropriate
Undertake effective and timely Visitor/Contractor Company H&S Inductions.
Ensure staff are complying fully with PPE requirements and providing management with details on non compliance
Undertake in conjunction with Company Fire Marshals necessary Fire Exit, extinguisher and evacuation tests
Manage all necessary Personnel checks as applicable i.e. Eye Sight, VDU and Driver Licences etc. with the appropriate manager.
Carry out and record safety walkthroughs'
Assist in internal audits of the safety management system

Background should ideally be within the manufacturing sector

Skills, should include; attention to detail and accuracy, highly literate and numerate, with excellent communications and inter personal skills, assertive and authoritative and have intermediate Microsoft Office abilities.

Experience, Similar H&S role/responsibilities IOSH/NEBOSH trained/qualified would also be advantageous.
