Description

Due to continued growth our client has a fantastic opportunity where they are looking for people looking to enter into the telecoms industry and be trained up to be Fibre Surveyors.


Would suit people with a can-do work ethic combined with basic IT skills and happy to work outdoors in all weathers.

Starting at £12.50 per hour, rising on a sliding scale time served.


Once fully qualified and time served experienced, salaries can be expected after 2 years to exceed £40,000 per annum.

Location:
Field Based, UK Wide


Pay:
£12.50 per hour, 40 x hours per week - Via Umbrella


Van, fuel card, kit and full training provided
Excellent opportunity for a Trainee Fibre Surveyor to join a national contractor with full training provided.


You will be provided a structured training programme from our experienced internal Telecom Fibre Survey team and start a career on multiple networks.

The hourly rate can increase to
£18.50 with training, time served on the project and certificates you obtain.


Experience and Skills Required

  • Happy & able to work outdoors in all weathers
  • Able to stay away from home when required (hotels & expenses provided)
  • Have a great attitude, be able to take instruction and willing and able to learn on the job
  • Must be IT proficient and have basic computer skills with programmes to enter necessary information. Full training provided but basic computer skills essential.

Eg:
Excel, Outlook and Teams.

  • Have a full driving licence with less than 6 points
  • No prior experience required, full training

Duties to Include

  • Training on surveying both overhead and underground telecommunications
  • Working alongside the experienced fibre survey team to learn the requirements to survey the telco networks including CityFibre, Openreach and Vodafone.

Main Duties

  • Attending sites to determine the best installation route for fibre optic network lines.
  • Understanding and surveying existing fibre optic network infrastructure including ducts and potentials for upgrades.
  • Interpreting telecom design blueprints and construction maps
  • Completing survey documentation job packs: ISP pathways, drawings, address listings, bill of materials, confirmation pictures, construction plans and project timescale
  • Carrying out area surveys to ascertain whether any obstructions will prevent a successful installation
  • Meeting with clients to resolve any issues preventing the project receiving approval to move forward.
  • Completing all necessary steps to ensure that wayleaves, permits, reroutes, timescales and agreements are obtained
  • Manage a program of works to deliver client targets and expectation
  • Conduct Onsite Safety Audits/ Risk Assessments /Quality Checks.
  • Ensure compliance with all companycontrolled documents, including all method statements and procedures.
  • Delivering a consistently high level of customer service when out in the field
  • Working and ensuring that you are working with in the Health and Safety requirements
