Position

Senior care Worker

Responsible to Management.


Purpose of Position


As senior care assistant the role is to support the person in charge and his or her assistant in all aspects of the home's management, including taking temporary complete charge during the absence of the person in charge and his or her assistant.

To help train junior members of staff in all aspects of their work in the home.


Principal Responsibilities


Help to ensure that all junior and domestic staff contribute to the best of their ability to the efficient running of the home and the creation of the right atmosphere.

Ensure the highest levels of care and dignity while supporting our residents with all aspect of care.

Assist care users who need help with dressing, undressing, bathing and toilet.

Administer medication in line with company policies and keep accurate records.

Be responsible for leading and supporting staff and help to induct new staff.


Help residents with mobility problems and other physical disabilities such as incontinence; help in the use and care of aids and personal equipment.

Work inline with G.Ps, district nurse and other agencies, being confident liaising with all the multi-disciplinary team.

Answer emergency bells, the door and the telephone; greet visitors.

Read and write reports in case notes.

Create, review and update, care plans and risk assessments to reflect our residents' changing needs.

Take part in staff meetings and in training activities as directed.

Carry out other reasonable duties as may be required.


Competence and professional development
This role requires the following competence and commitment to continuing professional development (CPD).

  • Working towards an administration qualification at the equivalent of NVQ level
  • Participation in annual appraisal and personal development planning and sixmonthly review.
  • Undertake training and development as agreed with the manager at appraisal and sixmonthly review — time during the working day will be provided for this.

Pay:
From £13.00 per hour
