Onshore Emergency Response Medic


Contract: 2/- Monday to Friday only

Main objectives

  • Act as the primary source of Emergency Medical response for any personnel suffering from significant illness or injury
  • Be capable of exercising appropriate and competent medical skills in the event of an injury or acute illness, providing advice, and consulting with topside and local NHS authority as required.

Duties

  • Provide onsite emergency medical care to all personnel during prescribed working hours.
  • Ensure compliance with the client's current Health, Safety and Environmental practices and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate patient medical records and ill health/incident reporting in accordance with MCL Medics Medical Standard Operation Procedures.
  • Provide initial emergency response, resuscitation, and stabilisation of critically ill or injured (trauma) patients, utilising ALS/ATLS emergency medical protocols.
  • Communicate and provide details to the MCL Medics Topside Doctor and local NHS services for the management and treatment of personnel providing appropriate referral documentation for injured or ill personnel requiring local NHS services support.
  • Liaise with terminal security and senior management to arrange safe transfer to local NHS services utilizing local ambulance response.
  • Maintain and control adequate stocks of emergency medical equipment within emergency medical equipment supplied by MCL Medics.
  • Operate all medical emergency equipment supplied in accordance with MSOPs. Conduct a regular functional check and keep a record of weekly checks.
  • Support terminal management in the planning of emergency procedures to ensure an appropriate firstline medical response to any emergency.
  • Conduct non certificated first aid training with the First Aiders including casualty handling as required.

Essential qualifications:


  • Either a Registered Nurse with at least 3years postgraduation experience, HCPC Registered Paramedic, Combat Medical Technician Class 1 (CMT1), Royal Navy Assistant, Royal Air Force medics Assistant or Royal Fleet Auxiliary Services Medical Technician.
  • HSE approved Offshore Medics certificate.
  • OGUK medical
