Stock Control Assistant
Middleby UK is based in Wigan and is part of the USA based Middleby Corporation.

Middleby UK import Commercial Kitchen Equipment which is designed and manufactured by other businesses within the Middleby Corporation to be sold into the UK market.

Our product range is prominent in many national chains around the UK.


Key Accountabilities

  • As the first point of contact for internal and external customers, provide excellent customer service.
  • Raising purchase orders, monitoring stock levels and stock usage to ensure that orders are placed timely and the system is uptodate.
  • Authorising supplier invoices and returning to Accounts in time for month end.
  • Working with factories on discounts, pricing and delivery dates.
  • Working with the warehouse on scheduling in deliveries of containers and airfreight and working closely with freight forwarders with regards to deliveries and costs.
  • To be compliant with HMRC, ensure all documentation for shipping goods is recorded and collated. Comply with all regulatory, customs and company paperwork and obligations, ensuring that company policies and procedures are always followed.
  • Transport planning of a large volume of trailer movements including container shipment and road haulage, including managing schedules for loading team.
  • Working closely with sales with regards to new product ranges and obtaining showroom models.
  • Regular stock meetings with Head of Sales, ensuring that procedures are being followed with regards to ordering stock. Keeping the sales team updated as to what stock is due to arrive so deliveries of customer orders can be planned.
  • Use negotiation techniques, product and market knowledge to confidently negotiate the best supply agreements and achieve cost reductions. Identify suitable suppliers and manage tender processes.
  • Ensuring that the goods purchased are compliant with UK Regulations CE approval to UKCA approvals, ensuring factories have goods marked up sooner rather than later due to deadlines approaching.
  • Monitor and challenge adhoc purchases to continuously seek cost reductions and monitor supplier performance.
  • KPI reporting, gather required information and collate into reports for review by management team.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Excellent organisation and time management skills to effectively manage multiple tasks and work to tight deadlines with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to negotiate skillfully and confidently.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft software, particularly Word and Excel.
