Summary


We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team at Edison Green, a family-run estate agency in Southampton.

As a Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth running of our business.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with our Managing Director to handle all aspects of bookkeeping, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations.

Your exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills will be essential as you accurately record and classify financial transactions.

  • You shall maintain accurate and uptodate financial records for the company, including but not limited to bookkeeping entries, accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger transactions.
  • We expect you to reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are recorded correctly in our accounting system.
  • You will assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports, providing detailed analysis on income, expenses, and profitability.
  • We expect you to calculate and process payroll accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • You shall manage and track company expenses, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to budget limits.
  • We expect you to communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders regarding financial matters, answering any inquiries or resolving issues promptly.
  • You will collaborate with our external accountants during annual audits to provide necessary documents and support.
  • We expect you to stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting principles, proactively recommending improvements to enhance our financial processes and systems.

Requirements:


  • You must have a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices.
  • You should have experience using Xero.
  • You must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and have the ability to create and maintain spreadsheets.
  • You should have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate recordkeeping.
  • You must be able to reconcile bank statements and identify discrepancies.
  • You should have strong communication skills to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues regarding financial matters.
  • You must have the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fastpaced work environment.
  • You should have a high level of integrity and confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information.
