Head of People Operations - Permanent, Canary Wharf

Hours: 40 per week, 08.30am pm Monday to Friday

This role is fast-paced, supporting our Asset Management business. To be successful, you must enjoy being hands-on and involved in the detail of both operational and strategic delivery.

A significant focus for the role is organisational design and supporting the asset management business in developing a sustainable workforce.

You need to be flexible, adaptable and demonstrate exceptional stakeholder management skills.


You will be responsible for managing a team of four across strategic and operational delivery, as well as talent acquisition.

A key objective for this role will be the separation and establishment of a fully-functioning and independent People team to support the asset management business aligned to the future strategic vision and direction of the business.

As well as being responsible for the overall delivery of the operational People Plan, your key responsibilities will include:


Talent management

  • Review and evaluation of exit trends to identify patterns, and design solutions to support retention of top talent and feeding back into the business the areas for change.
  • Oversee talent acquisition activities across the asset management business.

Performance and reward

  • Review and benchmark the Company's compensation and benefits offerings.
  • Work closely with the wider corporate People function to embed strategic performance management frameworks and structured reward programmes.

Employee relations

  • Manage and mitigate commercial and reputational risk throughout the business by providing pragmatic advice and management on employment relations issues covering advisory and litigation.
  • Direct management of settlement agreements, including advice, design and negotiation.
  • Provide advice on all aspects of employment law and oversee highrisk or evolving investigations and complex employee relations issues from advisory to litigation.

Organisational design

  • Lead and advise on all people elements of any change projects and any organisation redesign.
  • Manage collective restructure and redundancy programmes as well as TUPE programmes with dual redundancies, being very handson in the design, planning and execution stages.
  • Be a champion for organisational change and manage change initiatives with mínimal operational risk to the business.

HR service and delivery

  • Establish a fullyindependent People function for the asset management business with feedin to the corporate business for strategic delivery and alignment. This includes the creation of new IT systems and mailboxes, policy redesign and implementation, and standard operating procedures.
  • Being handson with the delivery of the People Operations function ensuring a seamless service delivery in partnership with all business areas and integrated with payroll.

Skills, experience and qualifications

  • Commercial awareness to anticipate change and drive strategic solutions.
  • Significant experience working in fastpaced, agile and changing environment.
  • Experience in leading highperformance teams and driving innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrable project and change management skills delivery multiple projects in parallel.
  • Ability to translate business strategy and goals into optimal HR processes that are scalable, simple and adaptable to changing business needs.
  • Ability to diagnose issues, drawing on both professional experience and strategic thinkingskills, and drive appropriate solutions with selfinitiative.
  • Highly organised, flexible team player with excellent prioritisation, strong followup skills and an eye for detail.
  • CIPD level 7 or equivalent
