Salary:
£12.00 per hour
plus holiday pay, £13,794.48 per annum

St Chad's is a distinctive independent college, recognised by Durham University and is a vibrant and progressive academic community. Home to around 600 students, including 150 postgraduates. Outside of term-time, the College operates as a Conference and Wedding Venue and also accepts bookings for bed and breakfast accommodation.

We now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced kitchen porter with a proven work history in this area to work in our college.


The working week will be five days out of seven and will include evenings and weekends on a rota basis, as business demands.

Holiday and sickness cover may be required.


Working as part of a team, the post holder will be responsible for day to day cleaning of kitchen and catering equipment, receipt and storage of deliveries and food preparation.

Basic food hygiene & C.O.S.H.H certificate desirable but not essential as training will be given.

Further information will be issued in the contract of employment.

  • Receive and handle food deliveries
  • Store food deliveries with knowledge of stock rotation
  • Clean food production areas
  • Clean food production equipment
  • Basic food preparation
