Description
An exciting new position as a Practice Manager has arisen for an award-winning Engineering company based in East London.

You will be responsible for all aspects of non-technical office management including office administration, systems, marketing, directorsPA and HR functions when necessary but excluding IT and finance.

The Practice Manager will work with the senior management team across all offices with support from the administration team.

Demonstrable experience of at least 5 years in a similar role is essentialand ideally within a design or construction firm.

Duties and key responsibilities_


ADMINISTRATIVE

  • Overseeing and line managing all functions of the admin team marketing, HR, and facilities
  • Reporting at the Senior Leadership Team meeting and contributing to strategic planning and development as a member of the Senior Leadership team
  • Managing office accreditations including Constructionline and Acclaim
  • Overseeing and managing filing document control, job management and purchasing systems
  • Oversight of GDPR compliance
  • Implementation of new company accreditations

FACILITIES MANAGEMENT

  • Managing health and safety, fire and security regulations
  • Coordinating and facilitating office moves
  • Ensuring smooth running of two premises
  • Overseeing office tidiness and visual appearance, cleaning, improvements and environment
  • Negotiating supply, services and equipment contracts
  • Managing subscriptions and memberships
  • Creating and managing office supply budgets
  • Negotiating and managing mobile phone contracts

HR

  • High level oversight of HR
  • Assisting with HR tasks when necessary to support the HR manager.
  • Line management of Admin Team

MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS:


  • High level oversight of marketing, business development and communications strategy including social media and websites.
  • Assisting with Marketing and PR activities when necessary to support the marketing manager.
  • High level oversight of internal communications, staff handbooks, sharing knowledge, intranet
  • High level oversight of practice brands

Key competencies & qualifications_

  • Advanced knowledge of InDesign and MS Office
  • At least 5 years experience in a similar role
  • A degree or equivalent
  • An ability to manage a team
  • A strong understanding of legal and regulatory aspects of proactive management
  • A strong understanding of best practice in marketing, communications & PR
  • Conscientious, responsible and able to maintain confidentiality when needed
  • An eye for aesthetic presentation of company in all forms including the office
  • Effective communication and team working skills
  • An eye for detail and accuracy
  • An interest in, and knowledge of, the architecture and engineering sector
