Post No. SSCF002- Principal Reviewing Officer

A vacancy has arisen in the Safeguarding and Reviewing Team for an Independent Reviewing Officer/Independent Conference Chair.

Applicants should have a social work qualification and have at least 5 years post qualifying experience. The successful applicant will also need to demonstrate a good knowledge of relevant child care legislation and relevant regulations.

The postholder will have responsibility for reviewing the Care and Support Plans for approximately 40 Children Looked After. In addition the role also entails chairing at least 1 Child Protection Conference a week.

Experience of chairing meetings is important as well as being able to liaise with outside agencies including Health, Police as well as CAFCASS.

The post is part-time (18.5 hours a week) and is within a well established team of IROs and Conference Chairs.
