We are now recruiting for the following positions:

Job Title:
Educational Wellbeing Practitioner x 2

FTE Salary:
£26,650 to £31,262.50 per annum


Team:
Mental Health Support Teams


Hours of Work: 37 hours (5 days a week on a Monday to Saturday working pattern). Hours are negotiable

Contract Type:
Fixed Term 12 months


Working:
In the Building, remotely and in the community

Overall purpose of the role


The post holder(s) will provide advice and support to children, young people and their families through workshops and small groups to provide them with information on how to maintain their emotional wellbeing.

The work will mainly be with schools but will also extend to smaller community-based groups to ensure in reach to young people who would not normally access services.

This will involve supporting children and young people within these settings who present with more severe problems to rapidly access more specialist service, supporting and facilitating staff in education settings to identify and where appropriate manage issues related to mental health and wellbeing, working with and within education environments to afford better access to health services.


The post-holder(s) will work with young people from diverse backgrounds and should be fully committed to diversity and ensuring access to services for all.


Work will be carried out digitally from home as well as working with children and young people at schools and in different community settings.

The post holder must be prepared to be flexible in their working arrangements to ensure that all children and young people can access support at a time which suits their needs.

The other aspect of this work will be developing workshops and other online resources.

The successful applicant should have the following:

  • PgCert/Dip in Education Mental Health Practice or Children's Psychological Wellbeing Practice or equivalent IAPT qualification
  • Experience of working with children and families, including work with children and young people with emotional and mental health needs and delivering evidence based interventions
  • DBS check
  • Ability to listen empathetically to children and young people and their families in order to work effectively in partnership. Qualities essential to practice, including, respect, genuineness, empathy, personal integrity and communication skills, to enable the therapeutic relationship and process. Ability to work in partnership with children and families.
  • Ability to support development and delivery of psychoeducation workshops, webinars and groups for young people, parents/carers and school staff.
  • Ability to study as a selfmotivated learner who can formulate their own progress towards learning objectives and negotiate pathways to achievement with supervisory teams
  • Excellent administration, organisation and IT skills
  • To be able to work independently and as part of a team with the ability to be manage a caseload efficiently
