Job Purpose
Reporting to the Technical Manager and working as part of a flexible central office based FSQ team The primary focus of this role is the provision of detailed Product Technical information to internal and external customers.
Core Accountabilities
- Responsible for customer generated quality and specification questionnaires with access to external databases as appropriate.
- Subject Matter Expert in Technical Specifications
- Responsible for updating customer special requirements in line with commercial team/customer requirements
- Perform gap analysis on customer requirements to ensure British Sugar can or cannot supply
- Responsibility to coordinate third party certifications for sites, associated records and supporting data (e.g. Organic, Kosher, Halal, ) alongside FSQ Compliance Lead
- Responsible for updating Quality and Technical Supplier information for raw materials, packaging and ingredients alongside FSQ Compliance Lead
- Provision of detailed FSQ information to internal and external customers in both verbal and written form. Generation of period KPI data / reports
- Support corporate emergency planning administration and resource training organization
- Demonstrate the highest personal health and safety standards at all times and work with other team members to carry out the tasks safely and effectively.
- Lead by example in role modelling the British Sugar Values and behaviours.
Critical Skills, Knowledge and Competencies
- Working knowledge quality and QESH systems (e.g. FSSC22000, BRC, HACCP and GMP)
- Technical knowledge and experience of managing product specification requirements in the food industry (Ingredients & Packaging)
- Knowledge of sugar functionality, specifications and associated terminology including an understanding of impact and importance of allergens, origin labelling etc
- Knowledge of Kosher, Halal, Organic and Fairtrade accreditation criteria
- Good understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and 5S theories in a fastmoving consumer goods environment
- Min A level Maths, English & Science
- Professional qualifications level 3 HACCP & Food Hygiene
- Knowledge & experience of legislative guidelines for packaging managing food labelling data
- Knowledge & Expertise in managing Technical data IT systems such as Business Management Systems, Hamilton Grant, Authenticate, Qadex, Sedex, SpecSafe etc
- General working knowledge of office administration activities.
- Sound working knowledge of UK and EU food law, particularly those applicable to processing, food contact materials, sugar products and animal feed
- Knowledge of sugar functionality, specifications and associated terminology
