Salary:
£22,197 with progression to £23,662 per annum

The Role


We are seeking to hire a motivated Education Assistant to join SAgE Faculty Professional Services team based in the School of Computing.

You will primarily support the education function, working with the wider Professional Services teams in the School together with internal stakeholders in order to provide a comprehensive administrative support and ensure the continuous smooth and effective running of the School's taught programmes.


You will provide a high quality service to students and academic colleagues covering administrative activities related to the student learning life cycle.

You will play a key role in ensuring the quality of programme delivery through supporting annual review processes and being a point of contact for our taught students and academic colleagues.


We are looking for an individual who is a confident communicator and has great interpersonal skills, with the ability to quickly build positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels of seniority.

It is essential that you possess excellent organisational skills and work in a timely and planned way, have a keen eye for detail and look to identify and implement improvements wherever possible.

Working with a variety of stakeholders, you will complete a range of administration tasks, demonstrating initiative, efficiency, attention to detail and a willingness to be flexible to support the wider team.

Being computer literate and having an up to date knowledge of Microsoft Office packages is essential.

Key Accountabilities

  • Guide and support students and academic colleagues with standard queries and general requests in an efficient and timely manner, referring onwards where appropriate
  • Work alongside the Education Team to check and update student data using University systems
  • Provide and update documentation and data collection for Education processes which could include updating modules, regulations, and timetabling activities
  • Provide support for School events such as student induction, student social events and University and School visit days
  • To act as secretary to designated meetings and committees including agenda preparation and circulation, producing bullet point actions and monitoring progress of actions

Qualifications:


  • Maths and English at GCSE Level 4 or equivalent
  • Relevant work experience in an administrative or customer service setting
