Job advertisement:

  • A rare and exciting opportunity to relocate to the south coast within a stone's throw of Brighton and the South Downs has arisen here at Shoreham Academy.
  • We are an outstanding school seeking to appoint a curriculum leader for Spanish to inspire in an already thriving, warm and friendly dynamic team in September 2023. The post would suit either a current curriculum leader or an experienced classroom practitioner looking to take on a leadership role.
  • Shoreham Academy's MFL department is successful and progressive, regularly obtaining outstanding outcomes for our students. Our success can be attributed to the ethos we share, which is based on collaboration and shared responsibility across the team. Each member plays a significant role in the success of our students and we are keen to support all teachers to develop their students as well as themselves to be the 'best that they can be'.
  • All new employees will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check with Barred List information prior to working in school. Two satisfactory references are required from all successful applicants, one of which must be the current or most recent employer. Prohibition order checks are undertaken for all newly appointed teachers and support staff who will be engaged in 'teaching work'. All new employees will be required to complete a medical questionnaire.
  • United Learning reserve the right to request further checks for individuals that have ever lived or worked outside the UK. It is an individual's obligation to meet these requirements by requesting a Certificate of Good Conduct from that country, or those countries, of residence and (for teachers) a Letter of Professional Standing from the professional regulating authority in the country or those countries in which they worked. All new employees will be required to read and sign the annual Staff Student Relationship letter upon joining the Academy. All new employees are required to complete three online safeguarding modules prior to starting work. Evidence of an individual's right to work in the UK will be checked at interview. Verification of any mandatory professional qualifications and professional status; relevant certificates or a letter of confirmation from the awarding institution must be provided at interview.
