  • Job description
  • We are looking for an Assistant Scientist to assist in the cleaning and maintenance of a wide range of water quality monitoring equipment. In addition, you will assist in the operation of our quality assurance system.
The high-resolution evidence produced is vital if we are to better understand our water environment.

  • The team
  • The National Water Quality Instrumentation Service provides support to all instrumentbased water quality monitoring activities undertaken across the Agency.

We deliver a vital service that underpins the Environment Agency's regulatory responsibilities, and we are playing a central role in the development and expansion of real time water quality monitoring in relation our responsibilities under the 2021 Environment Act.

The team also supports a wide range of citizen science and stakeholder partnerships.

  • Experience/skills required
  • We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated person. Preference will be given to those with laboratory or workshop experience.
You should have an interest in science or engineering.
Be open and willing to learn.
Have good communication skills.
Be a team player
GCSE English, maths, and science would be an advantage but not essential.
All training will be provided.
