6 Month Temporary Contract
An exciting new opportunity has arisen to appoint a Payroll Team Leader at the West Midlands Pension Fund.


The Fund is one of the UK's largest pension funds providing, from it's 'state of the art' new building at i9 in Wolverhampton, local authority pension benefits for employees across the West Midlands.

The Fund manages and administers the pension interests of over 330,000 scheme members, 800+ employers and currently has over £20 billion in assets under management.

Responsibilities will include;

  • Leading one of the benefit operation teams ensuring that work is delivered to a high standard, and within given timescales.
  • To be responsible for the daytoday management and monitoring of the standard of service provided to members and provide support and coaching to staff to improve performance delivery in line with the fund's KPIs.
  • To be responsible for and accountable for the teams development and training both specialist/technical and interpersonal/management skills to ensure the team are kept up to date with knowledge of the pension legislation which affect the administration of the LGPS
  • To be responsible and accountable for ensuring that pension calculations and processes undertaken by staff are regulatory validated, errors reported and corrected immediately and rejection reports discussed with team members.
  • To be able to analyse calculate and authorise over/under payments of pension manually, must have sound knowledge of tax.
  • Downloading data from HMRC and ensuring pension records are updated correctly.
  • Manage the running monthly payrolls to meet strict deadlines.

Job Types:
Full-time, Temporary contract

Contract length: 6 months


Salary:
£32,000.00-£37,000.00 per year
