Program Managers, Regional Coordinators, ER Manager, Program Support Staff

POST OBJECTIVE:


To lead, develop and manage the implementation team to achieve the goals of Penny Appeal organizational strategy through Program Development, Implementation, effective coordination, consolidation, technical assistance and guidance by ensuring a cohesive team spirit and motivation to perform.

They oversee and ensure resource mobilization, prioritization and allocation, work plan coherence to deliver the Penny Appeal Programs strategy. This position involves collaborating with PA Partners and Allies to foster long-term relationships to successfully deliver programs. The role reports to the Director of Programs.


Main Responsibilities

Program Design, Planning, Management and Implementation

  • Offer support in the development of strategic plans and budgets for all programs Globally.
  • Provide direction to the Program Team to achieve the goals of the Program Strategy of Penny Appeal.
  • Review and ensure alignment of program priorities, strategies and plans with the Program International strategies, plans and campaigns.
  • Support the Director of Programs in leading the development of strategic and operational plans according to PA programs strategy and planning guidelines.
  • Ensure Penny Appeal programs activities are interconnected and consolidated at the national and international levels.
  • Ensure quality implementation of all Penny Appeal projects.
  • Ensure learnings are effectively documented by the program team, demonstrating value for money.

Fundraising and Business Development

  • Assist the Director of Programs in developing and managing relationships with high net worth donors and institutional donors.
  • Take the lead on turning program ideas into quality grant proposals through a community-based, participatory approach.
  • Work with the MEAL department to seize funding opportunities in the UK and other operational countries.

Program Reviews, Monitoring, Evaluation, Program Learning and Reporting

  • Ensure close monitoring of program work in the field to guarantee alignment and contribution to PA strategy, monitor information flow and systematic documentation of quantitative and qualitative accomplishments in the field and lessons learned. Ensure quality and timely submission of required Program and Project Performance Reports as per standards and guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with approved Program and Project plans.
  • Promote evidence-based learning and the advancement of alternatives
  • Represent the organization/Program Unit in various program-related knowledge sharing and learning forums, document and share insights with the team.
  • Track trends in contemporary development programming and program management practices, document and provide recommendations on key developments to the Director of Programs.

Partnerships and Networking

  • Support Program Managers in enhancing networks in Penny Appeal's collaboration areas.
  • Aid in building partners' capacity within the networks.
  • Foster long-term partnerships by involving strategic partners in operational countries.
  • Assist Program Managers in enhancing relationships with strategic partners, networks, and alliances.
  • Strengthen partnerships at all PA current and potential operational countries.
  • Represent Penny Appeal and take part in network and alliance meetings, events, and forums nationally and internationally.
  • Establish and cultivate strong relationships with key national partners and collaborate with other INGOs with humanitarian capacity, including government and UN colleagues.
  • Ensure effective representation of Save the Children's humanitarian response to local authorities, donors, working groups, clusters, task forces, and other humanitarian community members.
  • Ensure effective communication with other stakeholders, including partners and international teams.
  • Build and maintain networks and alliances with academia and research institutions.
  • Ensure robust partnerships at all levels following organization procedures and guidelines.
  • Coordinate and support Penny Appeal partnership reviews.
  • Ensure follow-up of partners after reviews and reflections.

Financial Management

  • Develop, monitor, review, and update the Program department work plan to ensure it achieves its objectives cost-effectively and efficiently.
