As we progress on this journey, finance plays a critical partnership role to ensure we deliver an effective transformation by steering our organisation through a challenging time moving from a single outsourced provider for our IT, to a multi-partner environment over the next few years.

This will involve expert financial, commercial, and operational skills as you act as the strategic advisor and business partner a department Director to achieve this.

You will act as the go-to finance business partner for Service Now Director and their Leadership team. This will involve frequent interaction with the business's programme and project leads.

This will also include among other items, preparing the journals to ensure a smooth month-end process, helping to prepare the annual budget and quarterly re-forecasting of it.


What you'll be doing:


  • Junior Finance Business Partner to a WPP IT department Director providing insight and financial management of the cost base of that team both in a BAU aspect and projects.
  • Accountable for assisting the FBP with the financial forecasting, planning, and reporting of these key programmes, working closely with both our broader IT Transformation programmes but also the WPP Shared Service strategy.
  • Assisting the FBP preparing the quarterly reforecasts of the annual budget through setpiece meetings with key stakeholders inside and outside of the finance team. In addition, working with FP&A and other Finance Business Partners develop the monthly rolling forecast process. Communicating the budgets to key stakeholders, tracking spend vs budget.
  • Build key relationships with the programme teams.
  • Improve data quality, insight, and economic drivers to identify opportunities for efficiency, cost reduction, with particular focus on TCO of ERP platforms globally.
  • Define and manage the financial analysis insights and key reports to inform strategic decision making and delivery of business value / outcomes.
  • Steward, lead and partner with the business, to ensure all business activities are carried out in accordance with, and in the spirit of, local legislative requirements, to enhance and protect value for the short and long term.
  • Providing support to Commercial Services, Application Development and Finance teams across key WPP contracts, including supporting the RFP process.
  • To Review of business cases (Project Work Orders) to ensure contractual adherence and cost management.
  • Operate in a highly complex environment with very high risk (potential financial or commercial impact, OpCo and Group level visibility, potential reputational impact).

What you'll need:


  • Excellent communicator with a track record of operating, partnering with and influencing stakeholders, including nonfinancial teams
  • Collaborative approach with a focus on business and client needs.
  • Ability to operate in a fastpaced organisational transformation and is comfortable navigating organisational / geographical complexity, across different functions (Operational, Commercial and Group Finance).
  • Tenacity, whilst acting with high integrity and strong ethics.
  • Management reporting and decision support.
  • Ability to manage pressure and execute critical decision making as well as being selfmotivating whilst operating in an ambiguous environment.
  • Dataled approach to solving problems, driving new insights and identifying value opportunities.
  • Strong Organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Experience within an IT / technology environment would be an advantage.
