Remedy Recruitment Group are currently seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker to work within Reading Councils Adult Safeguarding Team.

Job Purpose

We are looking for a Locum Social Worker for the Safeguarding Adults Team who screens referrals, move cases through the system to the most appropriate team or person in the organisation and provide oversight and professional support to providers and partneragency colleagues.
They will make contact with people potentially at risk, their carers, representatives or family at a difficult time, providing support through the initial stages of a safeguarding enquiry.
To work within the framework provided by statute, guidance, policies and procedures.
To undertake safeguarding investigations and attend strategy meetings and MDT meetings to progress enquiries as necessary.
Must be autonomous worker with sound knowledge of Care Act 2014 and all relevant legislation relating to adults with care or support needs and their carers.

Required:

Good knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act, Care Act and Safeguarding principles.
At least three years' experience as a Social Worker in Adult Social Care
Good recording/documentation skills
Understanding of risk identification/management/mitigation
Ability to work in a personcentred and strengthsbased way with service users
Good IT knowledge
Ability to work independently

This role will require the Locum to attend Reading for regularly to visit to residents at risk. A car user is preferable but Reading has a great bus service that covers all areas of the town.

Our office is based in the Civic Centre which is in the centre oftown approximately a 15 minute walk from the train station.
